Dinner is three courses from a menu that changes nightly, with several choices at each course. Bread is included; special requests from the full menu are taken in advance.
A recent evening: roasted butternut soup; sirloin with pepper or mushroom sauce, grilled pork ribs with the house barbecue sauce, pan-fried trout in lemon butter, maguru and matumbu cooked the traditional way, a vegetable stir-fry; then the Leopard Rock chocolate fondant or the cake of the day. Mains come with fries, mash, rice or sadza.
The wine list is drawn from the Cape and has been nominated for awards. After six in the evening the dining room asks for smart-casual dress; guests in T-shirts, shorts or slops, and their party, dine just as well in the Napoleon Bar.
