The Famous Holes

Spectacular views, a bracing climate and 18 challenging holes on this Peter Matkovich-designed, championship-rated course named one of Africa's Top 10 by CNN Travel (2013) make this one of the most spectacular golfing venues you'll ever play.

  • HOLE 2
    “Sunbird” - Par 4
    Men’s - 311 – Stroke 14 • Ladies – 225 – Stroke 6

Picturesque short par four played from an elevated tee with ravine in front, which leads to a sloping fairway. The approach is played from a downhill lie to a narrow green that is protected by water on the left hand side. This hole is driveable for the brave hearted

  • HOLE 9
“The Leopard Rock” -  Par 3
    Men’s – 173 m – Stroke 4  •  Ladies – 106 m – Stroke 14

It is appropriate that the front nine is completed by this feature hole, which is not only spectacular but extremely challenging at 173 m with a carry almost all over water, makes that much awaited refreshment seem a long way away.

  • HOLE 14
    “Matkovich” -  Par 3
    Men’s – 199m – Stroke 7  •  Ladies – 140 m – Stroke 1

Spectacular views from an elevated tee which drops thirty meters to the green below which is protected by two small dams on the left.   Peter Matkovich Masterpiece.

  • HOLE 18
    “Tony Taberer” -  Par 5
    Men’s – 465 m – Stroke 17  •  Ladies – 395 m – Stroke

Stand on the tees and look to the right. Through the trees you will see Lake Chikamba in the distance. Once again the nine is completed by another feature hole. A short risk – reward par 5 that plays slightly up hill for the tee shot. As you walk up the fairway the dam becomes visible and the fairway gently slopes down. You are then faced with an difficult approach to a green, which is very well protected by bunkers and water.
